What to Do in the Nashua Area

Lake Recreation

To really experience Nashua you have to get on the water. Enjoy beautiful Cedar Lake. It covers 470 acres and is approximately 9 feet deep. There are boat ramps in Cedar Park and in Lakeshore Park. The lake is formed by the dam on the Cedar River. Enjoy boating, water skiing, jet skiing, tubing and fishing. Before you venture out of the main lake, check with the locals for location of the channel that allows you to go several miles up river.

Fishing

Cedar Lake Species include Bass, Walleye, Channel Catfish, Bullhead, Bluegills, Crappies and an occasional Muskie. Check with Nub at his bait shop for info on the most active fishing sites (Click here).

Hunting and Sport Shooting

Iowa hosts more than 250,000 hunters annually. Nashua has some of the best hunting areas in the state due to the Cedar River and Little Cedar River, Nashua Fish & Game Club is located at 3024 Addison Blvd. www.facebook.com/NashuaFishandGame

Attractions

Old Bradford Museum and Pioneer Village shows what life was like in the pioneer days. Visit a log cabin, one-room school, cottage, general store, Dr. Pitts Office, toy shop, church, a caboose and even a jail. www.facebook.com/bradfordmuseum/

Little Brown Church

Little Brown Church in the Vale is both a historic landmark and a functional church. It is a destination for people from all over the country for weddings, baptisms and reunions.

Campgrounds

Cedar View Park has 43 RV sites and 5 tent sites, a modern restroom with showers and a waste dump station. Each site has water, 30 amp electricity, a fire ring and picnic table.. Campers enjoy waterfront campsites, a private campground boat dock and access to beach volleyball courts,horseshoes, playground, skate park, large green space and sand beaches.
